Abstract:

‎Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an objective method for priority determination of decision making units (DMUs) with the same multiple inputs and outputs. DEA is an efficiency estimation technique, but it can be used for solving many problems of management such as rankig of DMUs. Many researchers have found similarity between DEA and MCDM techniques. One of the earliest techniques in MCDM is Quality Function Deployment (QFD) which is a team-based and disciplined approach to product design, engineering and production and provides in-depth evaluation of a product. The QFD team is responsible for assessing the relationships between costumer requirements (CRs) and design requirements (DRs) and the interrelationships between DRs. In practice, each member demonstrates significantly different behavior from the others and generates different assessment results, leading to the QFD with uncertainty. In this paper data envelopment analysis is used to overcome this uncertainty. Each member's subjective assessment is taken into account directly and a new data envelopment analysis method in group situation is constructed which differs from multi-objective decision making models. Then, without using Charnes-Cooper transformation, the proposed model is transformed into a linear programing problem in a completely different manner. We will call the proposed model "Grouped-QFDEA"‎.‎

Alternative ranking method in Dynamic Data Envelopment Analysis (DDEA)

The motivation of this paper is to propose such equitable method for ranking all decision making units (DMUs) in dynamic Data Envelopment Analysis (DDEA) framework. As far as we are aware there is not more studies in dynamic DEA literature. What's more, in such cases the best operating unit is important to be sampled for the others in under evaluated time periods. However, in this special conce...

A Fuzzy Mixed-integer Goal Programming Model for Determining an Optimal Compromise Mix of Design Requirements in Quality Function Deployment

Quality function deployment is a well-known customer-oriented design procedure for translating the voice of customers into a final production. This is a way that higher customer satisfaction is achieved while the other goals of company may also be met. This method, at the first stage, attempts to determine the best fulfillment levels of design requirements which are emanated by customer needs. ...

Utilizing Monte Carlo Method for Ranking Extreme Efficient Units in Data Envelopment Analysis

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a mathematical programming method for calculatingefficiency of decision making units (DMU). In calculating the efficiency score of unitsthrough DEA we may come up with some efficient units. But the question is among theseefficient units which of them is better. As we know, it is possible to rank inefficient unitsthrough efficiency score; however, for ranking e...

A new approach based on data envelopment analysis with double frontiers for ranking the discovered rules from data mining

Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a relatively new data oriented approach to evaluate performance of a set of peer entities called decision-making units (DMUs) that convert multiple inputs into multiple outputs. Within a relative limited period, DEA has been converted into a strong quantitative and analytical tool to measure and evaluate performance. In an article written by Toloo et al. (2009...

An integrated data envelopment analysis and simulation method for group consensus ranking

Group consensus ranking is an important topic in performance evaluation and selection research. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) has been used for obtaining an efficiency score (preference score) for each candidate. We propose an integrated DEA and simulation method for group consensus ranking. The ranking method proposed in this study has several unique features. In contrast to most voting meth...
